I'm Akshay Chordiya - an Android engineer at Marshmallow in London, and a Google Developer Expert for Android and Kotlin.
I've been building Android apps for over a decade. These days that mostly means Jetpack Compose, Kotlin Flow, and the unglamorous work of keeping a large codebase fast and pleasant to work in as more people join it.
Speaking
I've given 20 talks across 9 cities and 6 countries - droidcon London, Berlin, Orlando, San Francisco, Nairobi and India, Android Makers in Paris, and plenty of local meetups before any of that. Most recently I keynoted Android Makers on what an Android career looks like in an AI era.

Writing
I co-authored Kotlin Blueprints with Ashish Belagali and Hardik Trivedi, and there's a second book in the works.
Everything I write now lands here first. The older pieces were on Medium for years; they've moved across.
Side of the desk
I build small apps and put them on Google Play - a music player, a lock screen, a pronunciation helper, and a map of neighbourhood cats.
